What can I change in Settings?

Checked on 30 Oct 20263 min read

Why it works this way

What you save in Settings always wins: a suggestion only ever fills an empty box.

We ask for the two answers that change the work, your role and what you build agents for, and we keep them where you can change them at any time. A product that quietly replaced what you told it with something it guessed would be overwriting your own data while you looked elsewhere, so what you saved always wins over a suggestion.

What we gave up: A long profile. Anything we do not need to word the work for you, we do not ask.

What it is

Settings is where you tell Discover Agents who you are, so it can word problems, opportunities and blueprints for you. Open it from the menu at the top left. It holds your picture, your name, your role, what you build agents for, your company, the card to connect a coding agent, and a link to the community.

How to use it

  1. Picture. Press "Upload a picture" and choose a file. It saves the moment you choose it, with no Save button. It shows next to your messages in the room. "Change picture" replaces it and "Remove" takes it away. The screen names the file types and size it accepts.
  2. Name, role, what you build agents for, company. Edit them and press "Save changes". Name, role and what you build agents for are required. Company is optional, and it makes examples land for your world.
  3. Your role is the one that matters most. It changes how problems, opportunities and blueprints are worded for you. A line at the top of the form says what Discover Agents is tuning for right now, so you can see the effect of a change before you save. Changes apply to what you generate next, including pages you have not reached yet on a board you have open. They do not rewrite what is already on a page.
  4. Light or dark. Choose it from the menu ("Dark mode" or "Light mode"), not from the Settings page. It follows your account, so your phone opens the way your laptop does.
  5. Connect a coding agent. The card makes a key that lets Claude Code, Codex or Cursor read your boards, lists your connections, and lets you revoke one. It is on Pro and Studio; on Free the card does not make a key. See How do I connect a coding agent?.
  6. Community. The button at the bottom opens the builders' community in a new tab, so your board stays where it is.

What it will never do

  • Replace what you saved with a guess. A suggestion only ever fills an empty box.
  • Change your email address. It is shown, and you cannot edit it here.
  • Rewrite what is already on a page when you change your role.

If something looks off

  • "Save changes" is greyed out. Name, role and what you build agents for must all be filled in.
  • It says everything saved except the company. Your company could not be stored on this account right now. The rest is safe. Tell us through Tell Omer if it keeps happening.
  • "Couldn't save" or "Couldn't reach the server". Check your connection and press Save changes again.
  • The picture is refused. The screen says whether the file is the wrong type or too large. Pick a smaller or different one.
  • You cannot find a plan, billing or delete-account section. There is none in Settings. To close your account or have something removed, use Tell Omer or write to the address in the Privacy Policy.
  • The theme looks wrong on one device. Toggle it from the menu once. The choice is saved to your account.
