Iris, your guide
Who is Iris, and what can she see?
Why it works this way
Iris, your AI guide, reads what is on your board before she answers you.
You get one guide, not a panel of coaches. She reads what is on your board before she answers, so you start from your board, not from a blank page. A guide who only sees the page in front of her is more likely to miss that today's answer contradicts what you told her two pages ago.
What we gave up: A crowd of voices arguing in the conversation. It would look deeper, and it would make the decision feel less like yours.
What it is
Iris is your AI guide. She sits in the conversation beside your board, on every page of it, and she reads what is on your board before she answers you. She is not a person, and what she says is not evidence from real people.
When you land on a page, she opens with one line naming the decision that page is waiting on.
How to use it
- Open any page of your board and read her first line. It names the decision in front of you, not what is already on the screen.
- Talk to her in plain words. Ask what a card rests on, what is only our read, or what would settle the decision. She answers from your board.
- When she offers a card (for example "Take me there" or "Open this test"), tap it to do the thing. Leave it to skip it.
- On a test that offers simulated people, the same panel switches over to them. They are AI, separate from Iris, and they are practice, not evidence. See What are simulated people, and why don't they count?.
What she reads goes to AI services to write her reply. The Privacy Policy lists them.
What it will never do
- Count as evidence. What Iris says is a reading of your board. Your evidence is what you gather and log from real tests.
- Stand in for a lawyer, an accountant or any other professional adviser.
- Choose for you. She can say what each option rests on and what would settle it. Nothing on your board is chosen until you tap it. See What does Iris do for me, and what will she never do?.
If something looks off
- She is quiet on a page. She opens once on a page, not every time you come back to it. Ask her anything and she answers.
- A slow or failed reply. You will see a message such as "The AI is handling a lot of requests right now" or "The service is temporarily unavailable". Wait the time the screen names, then press Try again. Your board is not affected.
- She says something that does not match a card. Trust the card on your board over her sentence, and tell her what you see. If she is wrong about what the screen shows, use Tell Omer.
- Something is still running. If a scan or a run is in progress she says so instead of guessing.
- A very large board. She may not hold all of it at once. Ask her about one page or one test at a time.
- She is missing from a screen. She lives inside a board, with a hello on your home screen before you start one. She is not in My boards, Settings or Help.
