Iris, your guide

What does Iris do for me, and what will she never do?

Why it works this way

Iris, your AI guide, can offer the next step, but the decisions stay yours: nothing is chosen until you tap it.

A guide who only comments leaves all the work to you, so Iris does the routine work. But a card she hands you is a default, and a default is a choice. So which space, problem, opportunity or road you take stays a tap only you make.

What we gave up: A guide who decides for you and saves you the tap. It would feel faster, and the decisions would stop being yours.

What it is

Iris, your AI guide, can act on your board, but nearly everything she does is a card you tap. She offers the next step, tells you what it will do, and waits. Two things she does without a tap: she records a finding that came from what you just said, and she keeps your own account of a round in your own words.

How to use it

  1. Ask for the thing you want in plain words: "write the tests", "take me to the tests", "scan who is circling".
  2. She offers a card. Cards you may meet include "Set this as the bar", "Log this round", "Scan the terrain", "Upload transcripts", "Simulate the interview", "Reword this card", "Take me there" and "Open this test". Read what it says it will do, then tap.
  3. Check the card's Undo line. Many cards say what Undo puts back and what it leaves alone. The ones that cannot be undone say so, for example a scan that uses a research credit.
  4. To choose a space, a problem or an opportunity through her, name it in your own message first. She then offers the card for it. If you ask her to pick for you, she tells you what each option rests on and what would settle it.
  5. To change the wording of a problem or opportunity card, ask her. "Reword this card" does it, and its Undo puts the old wording back.

Some cards appear because your board needs them: a round waiting for its result, or a road to choose once a result is in. You do not have to ask.

What it will never do

  • Choose your space, problem, opportunity or road. Each one waits for your tap.
  • Record a finding that did not come from what you said. A finding that cannot be traced to your words is not recorded.
  • Set your bar for you. Nothing becomes your bar until you commit it yourself.
  • Count toward your evidence. What she says is not evidence for your test.

If something looks off

  • You asked for a card and none appeared. Say again what you want, using the names of the cards on the page. She tells you when something cannot be done on the page you are on.
  • She refuses to offer a pick. That is on purpose. Name the option you want in your own words and she offers the card.
  • A card did nothing when you tapped it. Reload the page. If it still does nothing, use Tell Omer and say which card.
  • You tapped something you did not mean. Look for Undo on the card. If the card says nothing can be undone, the step cannot be taken back.
