Real people and what they say
What does the product do with my conversations?
Why it works this way
A quote saved to your board from one of your conversations is checked against your own transcript first.
When a quote from one of your conversations is saved to your board, it is checked against the transcript you added first. If the words are not there, it is not saved as a quote, and Iris tells you it was left out. A misquoted customer is worse than no quote, because you would build on words nobody said.
One person's remark is not a pattern, so a finding says how many people said it.
What we gave up: some quotes that were probably right. A quote in different words can be missed, so it is left out rather than guessed.
What it is
When you add a conversation, Iris, your AI guide, reads it and files what came out. You see what people said, how many different people said it, and whether they brought it up before you asked.
How to use it
- Add a conversation (see "How do I add a conversation?").
- On the test page, What you brought back counts what came out: got stronger, got weaker, could not separate, nobody asked, not repeated yet.
- On a test that compares cards, What came up about each card files the findings under each card, in your board's order. A card nobody raised says "Not raised, not asked". What fits none of your cards is kept apart, under "Not about any one card".
- Look at the marks. A tick beside a quote means we copied that line from the transcript. No tick means it is Iris's reading. A Before you asked chip marks what the person raised on their own.
- Open one conversation for its own page. Under What it might mean for your bet, each finding shows its kind, a count of people, from "Worth watching, seen once" up to "A pattern", and the quote. At the bottom, a box asks, "You know this space. Does this match what you'd expect, or is something missing?" Your answer stays in your words.
On a customer interview, each conversation also says how many of your five questions it covered ("asked 3 of 5"). A short note on each card is rewritten as more conversations come in.
What it will never do
- Save a line to your board as a quote when it is not in your transcript.
- Call one person's remark a pattern.
- Rank your cards or read a card nobody raised as a weak one.
- Write your own read for you. The box at the foot of a conversation says "Nothing here is generated."
If something looks off
- "Iris is reading it…" Give it a moment. If a reading fails, the row offers Read it again, and the conversation is safe.
- "I could not find those words in [the file], so I left the quote off." Iris said what she found, and the quote was not in your transcript.
- "Nothing has been tagged from this conversation yet." The reading found nothing to file. That is a real result, not an error.
- "From 5 conversations, 2 not read yet." In the call pop-up, those conversations are still being read, and the counts will move.
- With one conversation, every finding reads as a first mention. That is expected, not a warning.
